In His Most Exalted Name
My dear Ahmad,
Your letter arrived together with Khanum's «1» previous letter. May you be healthy and successful in your quest for knowledge and piety by the will of God, the Exalted. Khanum's letter worried me; immediately inform me of Faridah and for what reason which caused her to be taken to Mashhad. «2»
Give my regards to your esteemed uncle. «3» I have already sent my reply to his letter. Give my regards to your respected wife. I hope the little one «4» is fine by the will of God. Let me know his name.[Your] brother «5» dines with me at nights; Husayn «6» partakes the lunch with me and sometimes Maryam «7» as well; on Fridays all of them are here. May peace be upon you.
