Message [Effects and consequences of independent versus dependent culture]

On the threshold of the inauguration of school's when the dear students are entering the atmosphere of learning and knowledge, it is necessary to remind the dear children and parents and the great nation of Iran of some points.

Undoubtedly, the most overriding element playing fundamental role in every society is its culture. Basically, the identity and existence of any society is made up of its culture. With deviation of the culture, no matter how strong the society is in political economic, industrial and military aspects, it will become empty and hollow. If culture of a society is dependent and nurtured by alien culture, inevitably other aspects of that society will move in that direction and will eventually assimilate in that culture. It will lose its entity in every respect. The independence and entity of every society hinges on cultural independence. It is simplistic to think that when there is cultural dependence, independence in other aspects can be possible. It is not by chance that the main aim of the colonialists is to invade the culture of the subjects. It is not accidental that all the educational centers of countries including Iran ranging from elementary schools to the universities were invaded by the colonialists, especially Westerners and, lately by Americans and the Soviet Union. The tongue and the pen of the westoxicated and East-oriented people and professors have consciously or unconsciously rendered a great service to the East and West since the establishment of universities, especially over the last few decades. Although among the professors and writers there were some who were aware and committed and who were against this path, unfortunately they were noticeably in minority.

The rush of Iranian students towards the West or occasionally the East after finishing their Western and Eastern oriented studies at schools or universities, which have no fruits except Western and Eastern cultures, was so destructive that unconditionally made all aspects of our social life dependent on the superpowers, to the extent that our society was Islamic - Iranian on the surface but brimmed with Western and Eastern cultures. Unfortunately, though three years have elapsed since the victory of the Islamic revolution and since the resistance of the Islamic Republic against the East and West and their perverted schools of thought and the loyalty of the Islamic Republic to Islam as a negation of all dependence and perversion, we are troubled by the dependence of groups on either of the two poles and the allegiance of perverted schools of thought and their dependence on either of them. We are also up against those perverted ones who have infiltrated educational centers and by giving them leeway, we were at risk of leading astray the youth. God forbid, when our children go astray and feel inclined to the Western to Eastern countries, all aspects of the society will become dependent on either the West or East, and all efforts of the nation and the blood of the dear youth will go to waste.

It still incumbent upon the dear students and committed teachers and professors to do their utmost to identify the corrupting factors and purge the educational and training atmosphere from their contaminating effects. It should not be thought that this infiltration is just to lead astray the universities, because the perverts and the hypocrites give more importance to influencing high schools and even elementary schools so that they prepare corrupt youths at the universities. They know that if the youth are educated in the right way at the educational centers and they sense the plots and tricks of the colonialist in all their aspects, the agents of the colonialist will have less success at the universities; therefore, they give especial prominence to elementary and high schools so that they gear the youths to Western and Eastern colonial system before they go to universities. For this reason, the educational apparatuses should be committed to and care about saving the country by giving importance to preserving our dear youths because the future of independence and freedom of the country hinges on proper education. For this reason, teachers and professors have the most important role in educating and refining the students. You have all seen how their tendency to East and West brought about tragedies for our country and turned universities into strongholds for serving the East and West. The overwhelming majority of the Western-minded and Eastern-minded graduates of this country changed the society. It is incumbent upon committed and responsible teachers at elementary and high schools to do their best to make the youths change the universities by informing them of the past corruption in universities and make them incline towards the rich and independent Islamic-Iranian culture. With the reopening of the universities, it is incumbent upon the committed professors to enlighten the students on the plots and evil acts of the superpowers whenever they see that youths tend to go for one of the wicked poles. It is incumbent upon those youths who are committed to the interests of the country and are aware of the Islamic objectives, to change the society and be sure that with this service, the complete independence and freedom of their beloved country will be ensured. For this reason, the role of the mothers of kids and the fathers of the young ones is extremely important; if the children are in the lap of committed mothers and under the protection of committed fathers who ensure that their children are raised in the right way, the job of the teachers will be easier. Basically, upbringing starts from the lap of the pure mother and guidance of the father. With the right Islamic upbringing they will lay the ground for safeguarding the independence and freedom of the country and make them committed to the interests of the country.

Today, fathers and mothers should be careful about the behavior of their children and in case they see any unusual activity they advise them so as not to let them fall victim to the trick of the hypocrite and perverts who will ruin their happiness in this and the next world. Mothers and fathers should be careful that at schools and at universities their children are full of excitement and emotion and with few slogans they will be drawn to pervert groups. Also the youths at high school should be completely aware not to fall into the trap of the agents of the superpowers, even in the name of real Islam. They should be careful that those who talk about true Islam know nothing about Islam, the Islamic rules, the commands and prohibitions of the glorious Qur'an and the great Islam.

Dear youth at high schools and universities should beware that the groups who, in the name of Islam attempt to undermine its foundations and throw the youth into the trap, know nothing about Islam, its objectives and laws. They cannot be Islamologists just by reciting a few verses from the Qur'an and some sentences from Nahj al-Balaghah and some erroneous interpretations. By misinterpreting a few sentences, they deny the explicit verses and statements which run counter to what they want. In reality, their adherence to Islam and Nahj al-Balaghah aims to crush Islam and the Qur'an so that they pave the way for their Eastern and Western leaders and mobilize your dear youths who are the assets of the country against the interests of your country.

Oh, dear youth! Beware and rationally look into the activities of the hypocrites who are the mouthpiece of the West and the perverts who are the mouthpiece of the East. Today, the biggest proof of their being on the wrong is the solidarity of all the forces against the revolution and the efforts of those who are against the Islamic Republic which represents the wish of the nation and which was realized by the sacrifices of the combatant and honorable nation that has scarified its dear children to realize it. Those who claim to be Islamists and against the West and America are now in the lap of the West. Their adherence to the West has been proved. «1» Their claim that they are followers of the nation was no more than hot air. In reality, they killed the oppressed people and set fire to the nation's money by braking into banks. Since the beginning up to now, they have used Islam as an instrument for their evil purposes; they have tampered with the Qur'an and Nahj al-Balaghah and thrown innocent youth into their traps so that they ruin their lives serving the colonialists. I emphasize that mothers and fathers of these innocent and naive youth do their best to save their youth from perishing in both this and the next world. The committed and combatant nation should be aware that they support the youth and children who are the assets and valuable resources of the country, and save them from the evil of these American perverts. Tomorrow- God willing- elementary and high schools will reopen. And God willing, very soon we will see the reopening of the universities. The pupils should know that listening to the evil intentions of the perverted hypocrite will deprive them of school. No one will be allowed to disrupt the schools. I beseech God to make the youth wakeful and mindful and help them develop their morality and knowledge.
