His Excellency Mu`ammar al-Qadhdhafi, President of the Republic of Libya,

I acknowledge the receipt of your message on the occasion of the arrival of the auspicious `Id al-Fitr with pleasure. Reciprocally, I congratulate you and the Muslim people of your country on this great Islamic feast. I implore God Almighty to grant prosperity and dignity to Islamic nations and destruction to the enemies and especially the world-devorer America. May God's peace and mercy be upon you!
