Nation and army must back each other
I express my condolence on the martyrdom of the army commanders. I was extremely aggrieved by this incident. Today, the government and the army are different from what they used to be in the past. Gentlemen should consult one another and cooperate to further the aims of Islam. Army commanders must have rapport among themselves. Today we are afflicted with war and almost all countries are plotting against our country. You can not maintain your independence and freedom without rapport. Look how the nation is supporting you. Look at the election and you will realize that Iran will always remain stable. Some people abroad might talk balderdash, but the nation knows the reality. The people are prepared and nothing should happen to shake them.
The world counts on nations. When governments see that our nation is prepared for anything and has demonstrated it by fathers' sending their sons to battlefields and mothers' reporting on their sons, how can foreign governments covet our country. Some governments always have a covetous eye on other countries. They can stage a coup d'etat or attack when people are not present but when the nation is prepared, what can they do? In this war it was made clear that our nation is not neutral. Our nation and the army are strong and can efficiently protect the country. We and all thinkers must preserve the harmony of the nation. Today the nation is on the side of the army and in nowhere else this is the case. The army is fighting in the south and the north and both old men and women on other side of the country cooperate with them. No one else can bring about this unity, except God. The army should attract the people with love. The army and the people must keep the country safe and despair the big powers. These governments are rid of their despair when differences emerge among people and between the army and the government. It is the governments and leaders who separate people from themselves by their deeds.
You must keep your unity so that your country can have independence and honor. It is better to have barley bread than to live in palaces where you have to put out your hands to others. Honor dictates it. You saved yourselves from the previous regime and are fighting for your honor; therefore, stick together. In Islam, there are no such things as low and high and you who are fighting for your honor, country and nation, be good to each other. For instance, the navy should no longer think of itself as separate from the army. All must be aware that this is one nation, one country and one Islam. Therefore, in order for the enemy not to do anything, we should stick together." God is on the side of the group." «1» The day when the Pasdars are separated from army and army is separated from the Pasdar is a shocking day and everybody will be shocked. Today all have divided labor and all are brothers and all are of one thinking. I pray to God to guide us so that all of us pursue this aim till complete victory is secured. You should know that this scum will not be permanent and will be eliminated.
