The hands of criminals and hypocrites took away a faithful and responsible president from the combatant Iranian nation, martyred one of the honest servants, and deprived the Iranian nation of his services to the impoverished people, thinking that by assassinating people the rising nation would retreat and show laxity in serving the great Islam, thereby paving the way for the plundering powers. However, unprecedented participation of people turned the hope of ill-wishers into despair and put a halt to the avaricious aspirants for good.
America and the terrorists associated with it always portray the honorable Iranian nation and the army loyal to Islam as moving away from their great Islamic goal in their massive propaganda. The Western mass media apparatus, particularly those of America's and Israel's have built fantasy castles for the world-devourers and their mercenaries, and are nurturing the dream of attacking Iran, the cradle of brave men and women, after failure of the elections and establishing a monarchical or democratic republic «3» regime after obliterating Islam in the country, so as to be able to plunder it forever. However, the massive turnout of the brave and committed people in the election together with the continuous victories of the armed forces in the south and West and the constant presence of the nation throughout the country and subduing the domestic traitors and isolating the nationalists associated with America, ruined their fantasy castles.
The Exalted God favored us by leading the public opinion to elect a committed and combatant president loyal to the straight path of Islam and versed in religion and politics. It is hoped that with the help of the three branches of the government and support of the great nation, problems will be removed one after the other, and the holy rules of Islam will be implemented in a satisfactory manner throughout the country.
Following the noble Iranian nation and in view of the status of the respectable thinker and scholar Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Aqa Sayyid `Ali Khamene'i- may God Almighty assist him- I confirm the nation's vote and appoint him as the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran. «4» The vote of the Muslim nation and its confirmation will be in effect as long as he is committed to serve Islam, the oppressed people and adhere to the rule of the Qur'an," They are hard on unbelievers and merciful among themselves" «5» as he has been so far, and does not deviate from the straight path of humanity and Islam. At this critical juncture when ill-wishers inside and outside the country and the mouthpieces of the superpowers, particularly the criminal America's level accusations against the nation, the government, Majlis and Iranian courts by every possible means, to destabilize the Islamic Republic, it is necessary that the president runs the affairs in a harmonious and Islamic way with the help of everyone in the Islamic Republic and with the endeavor of others so that they can leave no room for ill-wishers. There are many who may not agree with the Islamic rules, laws and punishment, though.
Mr. President and other officials in the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran should know that the honorable nation of Iran loves and favors them because it was this loyal nation that secured victory by sacrificing the blood of its youths and making arduous efforts. They freed everybody from prison, exile, isolation and suffocation and took away the government from the oppressors and handed it over to people. It is this nation that has been present on the stage and since the early days of the revolution has backed the country, the army, Sepah, the rest of the armed forces, the government, Majlis, the Supreme Judicial Council and the courts. The nation subdued the enemies inside and outside of the country and replaced the satanic parties and groups with the Party of God. It is the nation that voted for the president with enthusiasm and with more than sixteen million votes and put him in the presidential seat. They are the ones who were able to preserve the country from the evil of Satan by the will of God. They are the people who all of you and us are indebted to and should try to give what we owe them. We should wholeheartedly serve the nation, especially the oppressed ones on whose shoulders has been the burden of the republic. They served Islam without expecting anything. As long as we and you serve the people, the Islamic Republic will not see any harm and the great alert nation will answer back any lies and libels. I pray to the exalted God to grant victory to Islam and Muslims.
