Mr. `Ali Nasir Muhammad, President of South Yemen,
I received your Excellency's telegraph on the heartrending tragedy of the recent earthquake in Kerman. I appreciate your sympathy for this catastrophic disaster. I beseech God to grant high status to the martyrs and patience to their families. May God's peace be upon you.

«۱»- On ۶/۵/۱۳۶۰ AHS at ۲۰:۵۴ for the second time since the beginning of the year, an earthquake measuring ۶/۸ to ۷ on Richter Scale hit Kerman city and its outskirts, especially areas such as: Golbaf, Seraj, Shadad, Andohajarad, Joshan and Rafasnjan. The epicenter of this earthquake was between Golbaf city and Shadad (and the villages of the region). The earthquake claimed ۱۲۰۰ lives, injured ۸۰۰ people and destroyed.
