Unique revolution
The gentlemen are aware of the fact that this revolution is unique in that it has been achieved by the people, in the name of Islam and by the call of" God is great" at nationwide level. The Exalted God endowed the Iranian nation and shifted their attention to this Islamic Republic and made them desire Islam and an Islamic Republic. Of course, you are aware that all the revolutions which have taken place in the world- we should say all of them- have had far greater losses than gains. The gain in this case is that this revolution occurred in order to fulfill Islam and Islamic rules. Nowhere has there been such a gain. Even if the name" the Islamic Republic" had been placed over some countries, the content would have been missing. Similarly, you are aware that the problems in the wake of revolution in the big countries of the world have not been overcome yet. The Soviet Union, which is one of the superpowers, staged a revolution sixty and so years ago but they still have problems they have not been able to overcome.
One of the biggest features of Iran is that the government and the nation are not separate from each other. We do not have such a thing as a separate army, a separate nation and a separate government. The nation is I full harmony wit the army and the government. If the government or the army faces a problem or if the country faces something, like an earthquake, the people will handle the affairs better than the government, a case in point is the earthquake that hit Kerman. We saw how problems were overcome by the activities of Sadouqi «1» and the attention of people. I have this hope that all problems would be resolved because people are prepared. Of course, the question of purging the administration is underway.
Advising clergies to guide people and cooperate with the government
I hope this general inspection which has now become part of the activities will be conducted in a way consistent with the opinion of all the people and the clergies in particular. It is extremely important for the clergies to guide people, cooperate with the government and keep people in the same revolutionary state. They should warn people of discord and tension. They should tell people that there are sinister hands trying to doom the revolution to failure. Therefore, one of the important responsibilities of the clergies, especially Friday prayer leaders, is to warn people in their sermons that they should not be heedless of these hands that treacherously struggle to wreck this revolution. All the plots hatched both inside and outside of the country have been rendered ineffective. Thank God, even the war is going to be over with our victory. The country is yours; it is Islamic; we should all be committed to preserve Islam. One of our primary duties towards the Exalted God is preservation of Islam. As you all know, we are duty-bound to keep this divine gift. Today, Islam has been deposited to us. If in the past we had the excuse that superpowers would not let us do our duty and that there were powers who prevented the clergies to act in their capacity, today we do not have such an excuse. All the clergies wherever they are can get through to the people and tell them about their problems. They can also guide them; similarly, they should guide the government, the different departments and, God willing, I hope that all problems would be overcome very soon.

Of course, we had a revolution and in such circumstances a group of corrupt people were busy with their plots. They were planning from the early days of this movement, and even on the verge of victory of revolution, they were plotting. During the revolution, it was not possible to keep order; therefore, they began stealing the weapons. Now, you can see that sometimes they show how much weapons and explosives there are in one warehouse. Right from the beginning, when they got involved they did not have anything to do with Islam and the Islamic Revolution. They had their own purpose and pursued it. They sent their agents everywhere and looted Muslims' money. God willing I hope that with the efforts of the people, and the information they can provide about the location of these warehouses, this problem will be solved very soon and we will all be busy implementing Islam in this country. If there is any problem, God willing it will be overcome.
I hope that with the efforts of all the clergies and the religious authorities, our Sunni brothers and Shi`ites will come together and avoid discord, the corrupt people want to create between them. Everyone in his own capacity should warn people that dispute means throwing everything off balance in Iran and bringing us once more under the domination of the superpowers in which case we will gain nothing. Of course, these disputes have been there since the beginning either as a result of ignorance or the plots of some people who did not want to let the country have unity of expression. Now, the brothers, wherever they are, have seen what blessing of God this unity of expression is. We should preserve it and thank God for giving us such a gift. We have to keep this unity at any price. God willing, we will implement Islam and live under the banner of monotheism and Islam till the Imam of the Time (may God's peace be upon him) reappears.
