Introduction of knowledge, main ideal of revelation

I congratulate the present gentlemen, the people of Iran and Muslims of the world and the oppressed peoples on this auspicious feast. I beseech God Almighty to make us thankful of this blessed day. Of course, the" Army Day" also falls on this feast and Mr. Khamene'i rightfully designated it. The truth about some of the dimensions of the issue of prophetic mission has not been comprehended by anyone but the holy Prophet (s). What has been the issue? What sort of pressure has it been exerted by the Great Spirit? What state has affected in this respect? What has been the quality of ascension of revelation and the Great Spirit on the holy Prophet? We are short of understanding these concepts. We hear something from afar and cannot comprehend it. To acknowledge one's inability is admirable. When we are unable to ascend the peak of the truth of revelation, we should strive to approach it as much as our ability permits. We should get close to the purpose of the prophets in general and the Prophet of Islam (May God's peace be upon him and his progeny) in particular. It is the duty of man to approach the ideals of revelation. Now that man is unable to apprehend the nature of revelation, he should approach its ideals. This is also perfection if we can. The principal ideal of revelation has been to bring knowledge for man, knowledge of the truth being the topmost of them.

Learning and education, the way leading to attainment of the truth of existence

If learning is followed by education, it is because unless self is not purified, it cannot attain the Truth. Ear may hear something; sometimes man's intellect understands something and adduces proof, incorporating mystical matters. Yet, that which heart should understand is difficult to attain. How can we attain the monotheistic and mystical ideals for which prophets have been delegated? How can this understanding enter our heart and intuitive faculty? This is a question that calls for practice. After learning man needs purification. Side by side with purification one needs learning and wisdom followed by those visions that are opened for dispensed souls. This state will introduce a change in the self, enabling one to see objects as they are provided that one reaches this station." O, God! Show me the objects as they are." «1» This is what prophets and celebrated people have demanded. We cannot understand objects as they are. That is to say, we cannot comprehend the objects the way they are connected with the source. What the prophets have demanded is to discover the relationship of objects with the Truth. What is the connection of contingent with the sempiternal? The generalities are delineated by philosophy; some other states are explained by mystics. But it is difficult to realize the relationship." He is with you wheresoever ye may be." «2»" And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not." «3» What does this mean? How is the situation? Does it mean we are with each other? Does near unto us means we are two entities close to each other or something else? These are questions which we are nearly unable to appreciate. Nevertheless, we should heed the duties. When we could not reach the top, we should move towards the top. We should initiate the travel and not go the by-way or not deflect from the path. If we started traversing the path and are sincere and exercise purification, we will be helped. God Almighty will help us. With His favors, some states might be revealed. We hope that God Almighty will favor us on this day and transform us in the same way that He transformed our youth the way we observe. I hope God Almighty will help all those who fare upon this path.

Threat, temptation and creation of discord in combat against aggressor

I am unable to say anything about the development our youth and our nation have undergone. What sort of transformation has it been? What enormous transformation! What kind of spirit have they developed? How did this development happen suddenly? It calls for years of practice to reach this threshold. How did they traverse this change so swiftly? One cannot explain it in any context except acknowledging that it was a favor made by God. They make sacrifice and God favors them. I hope that all will achieve this transformation.
What I would like to say today is that you have seen many of the changes taking place in the world, in Iran. Some other developments have also broken out. Recently, we have observed this change. It was previously experienced, but it has multiplied. This transformation deals with humanology and Islamology! Formerly, if you remember Carter claimed that Iran does not know Islam. Now, all are making this claim! American authorities also say they (Iranians) do not know Islam well! Formerly, Begin also made such a remark! Now, domestic and foreign elements made such statements! I do not know when they want to write annotation on" Urwat al-Wuthqa"? «4» The point is that recently a special movement has emerged. Formerly, this movement was observable, but not with this intensity. Recently, inside and outside of the country calls have been made to push us towards compromise. What is this call? These supporters of the US everywhere ranging from Egypt to Sudan unanimously call for peace, arguing that the state of affairs should no longer persist. Did we want to be embroiled in this state, which they are crying to stop? One group raise the idea that such things should no longer come up and another one intimidate us by notifying us that Saddam's tanks and weapons have increased in number. These are true. His armament has intensified. I have already said that for us it is a point to be happy. Our youths will seize the weapons. A larger group of them constantly intimidate us, arguing that so and so has happened and stop the war. Those who made such words were few in number. Recently, we see this call from inside and outside with one voice. Where has this call emerged unanimously? With one voice from inside and outside of the country and in the form of advice, intimidation or hypocrisy. They want to accomplish it hypocritically. This hypocrisy is not restricted to these court clerics who bring out treatise and book. This hypocrisy applies to those residing inside and outside of the country, disappointing the people. This is hypocrisy that they are exercising. Disappointment signifies that these youths who are now making sacrifices and proceed strongly and whose strength have become widespread throughout the world as being reflected in the world, they have now recalled to intimidate them. What do our youths want that they want to frighten them not to attain? What do these young adults who come here and beg to pray for them to become martyr want from God for which you intimidate them to stop or else so and so would happen. Do they seek other than martyrdom?

Iranian nation never despair of battle against aggressor

These people should mend their way. These sheykhs around the Persian Gulf and I do not know those who are in Egypt and Sudan and elsewhere in Paris, etc. reflect a bit and mend their way. Come to your mind that a nation of this nature cannot be frightened. This nation cannot be despaired. They might disappoint a certain group; this group comprises a number of well-to-do people who were not involved at the very beginning. If you address these groups, they were not engaged from the outset. Right! There is a group everywhere that is indifferent. There are always a number of dissidents as well. However, the bulk comprises those who have accomplished the revolution. None of the former was involved in the revolution. A group worked sabotage from the outset. None had any hand in the revolution. I was in the know and observed what is what. Who do they want to intimidate? Who do they want to disappoint? Do they want to despair individuals who were opposed to us from the outset? They were opposed from the beginning; they are and will be opposed. Do they want to despair the youth who is joining the theater to achieve martyrdom? This will not be possible. The nation has undergone a transformation and will not be despaired of these words. Who do these wretched people who are residing inside or outside of the country and nagging and mourning want to disappoint? What do they want to do? Once one sees a voice is raised from Egypt, from Sudan and I do not know from Jordan, Iraq, the US, France and Iran. All is one and the same voice cried from one source. Are those who hail from Iran and have left the country in good terms with the nation? Do they see the interest of the nation? Does the one who compromises with Iraq considers the nation's interests? Does one who is a friend of the US seek the interests of the nation? Well! We know this is not the case. They should mend their way. One who can, one should mend one's way? Do not show so much malice. Mend your way. Heed the issues a little bit. Pay attention to the verities of Islam. See that when the Prophet was given the prophetic mission, he was alone and all were opposed to him, but he persevered and accomplished his end. Our nation is not scared. You few people are sitting there inculcating fear. Those who were not involved in anything, those who were seeking to collect arms against the line of the revolution when it emerged victorious in order to defeat the revolution and those who are sitting and strengthened their ties with the US, as it was the case from the outset, fail to heed that with the balderdash they utter this nation will not undergo change.

Reply to cry of Muslims' imploration

We do not want to conquer the world for which you warn us against doing so. We want to attend to the predicaments of the Muslims. If we could, so much the better and if we could not, we will get the spiritual reward. We want to attend to the suffering of Iraqi nation. We want to attend to the agony of this oppressed Iraqi people who are being crushed under the feet of tyranny and injustice. Should a Muslim not respond to the pain of another Muslim? Does Islam restrict us not to see to the problems of these Muslims? They are imploring Muslims to help them. We should respond to their outcry. Iraqi people are being crushed under the feet of this wicked man. We are accountable to God. We are defending the right of Islam and Muslims. We do not want to war. We did not wish to be engaged in war from the outset. We did not initiate the war. After they launched an offensive against our country, we defended. We are still in defensive position. Defense does not mean that as soon as the aggressor offered his hand for peace, we stop. This is wrong. We are aware of the nature of a savage beast. Since he calls for peace, how can we compromise? With whom should we reconcile? If the people of Iraq offer, we make peace. But look at the Iraqi people. What is going on in Iraq?
Iraqi people are witnessing that families of a great man, a great cleric, is sentenced to death in that way and that everyday noble people of Iraq are being killed in cold blood. Are the people of Iraq not crying for help? Should Muslims not defend this defenseless people? Should you Islamologists not defend the right of Muslims? Do you beset Islam by mounting walls around it? If from farthest part of the world one cries for help, we are duty bound to respond to his/ her outcry as much as we can. We do not say we can do so and so everywhere. As much as we can, we defend the right of Muslims. By Muslim is not mean Iranian. One who hears the cry of Muslim for help and fails to respond, will not be called a Muslim. Failure to respond is deviation. You are not attentive. This is deflection from Islam. This is disregard for the goal of Islam. Islam has not come for Iran; Islam has come for the entire world. Prophetic mission is for all and all should obey.

Logic of Islam in defending the rights of Muslims

I hope that God Almighty will awaken our nation and us. I wish God will awaken those who are asleep, those who dream of something and those who dream of the US. May God bring them to their attention not to torment a weak nation, a nation that wants to be relieved of this weakness and who wants to show its power to the world, displaying that they do not want to succumb to oppression. This is what we want. We do not want to conquer anywhere. We do not want to give in to injustice. We want to defend Islam. Saddam has trampled upon Islam. Do we want to defend him? We want to defend Islam! Saddam does not accept any laws of Islam. We want to defend people against Saddam, who are doing injustice to Iraqi Muslim people. The people of Iraq want us to defend them. We want to defend them. We do not mount offensive. We are still in defensive position. You want us to sit together with one who has crushed Muslims and does not believe in Islam and tramples upon Islam every day and then say may God give prosperity to you! What sort of logic is this? Is this the logic of Islam? Do you Islamologists consider this to be Islamic logic? May God mend your way! I hope that our nation notice that today devils turn out in different guises from within and outside. In different guise, they have embarked on weakening your morale. However, God is with you. God is capable of rectifying everything. God is with you. We insist to the last. Our youths, the army, IRGC, Basij and all strata of people excluding a limited number whom may God mend, unanimously believe that we should be present at the scene and defend the rights of Muslims. May God help you avail of this blessed day and make obey this sacred entity!
