Observing Islamic-human standards in Judicial Power

I appreciate all the gentlemen for taking the trouble to come here. I also thank Mr. Mousawi Ardebili and all you gentlemen who are engaged in this great service at this sensitive juncture. Our country is a new-born country to which majority of governments are opposed although people are in favor. It is propagated in the world that Iran wants to destroy the interests of all countries. However, our Islamic country acts according to Islamic standard and never intends to transgress upon others. As regards Iraq, we are simply defending. Defense is a right that is obligatory for all Muslims seen from religious or rational perspective, particularly for the people of Iran who have been subjected to aggression.
Of course, at such juncture, all works are difficult. The Judiciary's problems are greater than other organizations, because the Judicial Power interferes in affairs that are concerned with differences and differences among people are not stoppable. Inevitably, always either of the two people who are in difference leave unsatisfied. For this reason, it is a very difficult job and at the same time very sensitive and highly regarded by Islam. If the Judiciary behaves in accordance with Islamic-human standards, it can save the country.
You know that the question of Public Prosecutor's Office is very difficult and sensitive. Mr. Sani`i who is a learned and scholarly man and whom I know for many years is an active and good element has so far held the position. I appreciate his efforts. However, he has recently become tired and because of this he has decided to keep aloof and we wished him to remain in the post. However, he has resigned and his resignation has been accepted. I am also acquainted with Mr. Mousawi Khoeyniha and know him. Some other gentlemen also know him from every aspect. He is confirmed by some dignitaries and `ulama' in terms of knowledge. In terms of his commitment, I know him well. He does important jobs well and is an active man.
I hope all of you have understanding with each other. Today, we all need understanding; all of us should work together, because if a difference emerges among us, others will reap the benefit.
I hope Mr. Mousawi Khoeyniha will do his job that is of so great significance efficiently and soundly. I deemed it advisable that Mr. Khoeyniha replace Mr. Sani`i for such a great designation. He needs your cooperation and I hope that full understanding prevails among him and the Supreme Judicial Council and you so that your country would go forward and so that you can resolve the important problems. I pray God Almighty to grant you success and happiness.
[Mr. Mousawi Ardebili presented an account of the advancements and efforts for Islamization of the Supreme Court to the Imam and then Imam Khomeini observed:]
I hope all the gentlemen become successful in acting in a way that your country will develop into a model country in the Muslim world. I hope Islam will shine out in all countries. What is important is the nations who are, thank God, tilting towards Islam. Today, Islam has infiltrated countries in a way that those who are not true Muslim, apparently want to implement Islamic laws, but it should be noted that this is forgery. The criteria are the nations who tend towards Islam. I hope the country's Judicial Power will become a model for the Judiciary in other countries.
We should note that we are in God's presence. God is now present here. We should note that when we deal with the servants of God in God's presence, we should act in a way that befits the presence of God. We should note that our judgment is in the presence of God. May God make all of you successful!
