Another subject is that we do not want to live in a country that is deposed from the world. Iran today cannot be such. In fact, other countries, too, cannot be like this sit somewhere, and close their borders. This is irrational. Today, the world is like a family and a city and a city has different districts connected to each other. When this is the situation of the world, we should not be deposed. We should have relations with countries that side with us and do not harm us. The gentlemen should think of strengthening relations. Of course, we cannot endure those that want to transgress us and we have announced this from the outset unless they mend their way. The idea that occasionally ill-willed or ignorant people raise that we should not have relations implies that they either do not understand or have ill intention. If one is not ignorant or opposed to the system, cannot say a system should be detached from the world. Therefore, if a murmur is heard, you should ignore it, because they have evil political intention. Foregoing this, a wise man who understands things, knows the situation of Islam. Islam is a social and government system and wants to have relations with the whole world. In the early days of Islam when the Messenger of God dispatched ambassador to other countries, he did not make such statement. Anyhow, we should have relations; those who do not have ill intention, we also do not have ill will. Relations should improve gradually. I hope you will do this act and that the government will succeed. We should not however be under the domination of foreigners. They should not interfere in our affairs and should not direct us. Therefore, persons who have made remarks and appreciate the situation want to disrupt the Islamic Republic.
We said from the outset that we want to export our revolution. Export of revolution does not signify dispatch of military expedition. In fact, we want to convey our words to the world. One of the centers to accomplish this is the foreign ministry, which should communicate to the world the developments in Iran and Islam and the predicaments Iran has suffered from East and West. The foreign ministry should tell the world that we want to act like this and have good relations. However, those who want to destroy us, we are not basically interested in having relations with, unless they mend their way.
I hope God will grant you success to serve Islam and your country. This government should be a government to work for the oppressed, because so far governments have acted against the people and worked for themselves or their masters. We want the government to be for people, particularly those who have taken trouble and offered blood and relieved the gentlemen from troubles and rescued them from the former regime and complications of the East and the West. The important thing is that we should consider God as everything is from Him and we are nothing. May God grant success to all!
