Letter [to Mirza Muhammad Thaqafi]

Karbala, Iraq
Family-related; announcement of good health
Mirza Muhammad Thaqafi
جلد ۲ صحیفه امام خمینی (ره)، صفحه ۱۸۲
In His Most Exalted Name
Muharram 11,1388 AH
I do acknowledge with gratitude the receipt of Your Eminence's blessed missive which was expressive of your good health and your show of kindness for me. I pray to Almighty God for good health and prosperity for Your Eminence and your family members. The whole of my retinue and me are in good health. At the moment, we are in Karbala al-Mu`alla, praying for you. Since the time is so limited and the arrival of letter will possibly be delayed, Khanum «1» will trouble writing you later on. For now, she is fine and sends her regards. Regards to your respected son. May peace be upon you.
Khomeini
«۱»- Khanum: literally means `woman' or `wife'. It is formally used as a title of respect for women. In this context, Imam Khomeini is referring to his spouse.
