«۱»- Prior to the victory of the Revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republic in Iran, the banknotes that used to be issued by the Central Bank had the" Lion and Sun" emblem on them, which was considered to be a symbol of the monarchial system. Imam Khomeini crossed out the" Lion and Sun" emblem and wrote:" The emblem should be that of the Islamic Republic."
