The painful tragedy of the devastating fire and flood in Tabriz that has resulted in the death of some of our brethren is a matter of great regret. I wish to offer my condolences to the families of the Azerbaijani brothers who had been continually present in the path of the Revolution, sparing neither their lives nor their possessions. I request God the Almighty to give them forbearance and reward them. The government of the Islamic Republic, the Red Lion and Sun Society «1» and the governor of Azerbaijan are duty-bound to expedite the repairs of the damage that has been caused. And I request the Azerbaijanis to make every effort to assist their dear brothers. In case they want to make use of the blessed Share of the Imam (`a), it would be acceptable to and approved by the Master of the Age- may God expedite his glorious advent. May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you.
