Speech [Injustice of the powers and Iranian people's innocence; unfounded accusations against the Islamic establishment]

As stated brothers from abroad, including Pakistan, Indonesia and some other countries have come here. I hope during their visit to the country they would appropriately study the issues and problems in Iran and inform their nations of the realities here.

In this revolution we have gained unimaginable victories and suffered a lot off oppression. Our greatest victory was that a 2500- year-old tyrant and oppressive regime was replaced by an Islamic establishment that is determined to traverse the path of Islam, and hopefully will do so. We have been exposed to an unprecedented amount of oppression just because of embracing that grand victory thanks to the harmonized and joint efforts made by this nation, our military and police forces, and the border guards hand in hand with one another. Their serious efforts were of course aimed at severing the hands of the agents of the global oppressing powers from this country, while the oppression we have been exposed to after the victory of our revolution originated from those superpowers that have lost their interests in Iran. Those powers also fear lest the other Islamic and oppressed nations follow suit- something that is not unlikely. They have received a severe blow from Islam and cannot tolerate it. That is the reason why they have launched their massive opposition against us and the Islamic Republic, whose main and only objective is implementation of the Islamic laws and jurisprudence in this country. The severe blow they have received has made them launch attacks against us from all sides, and to mobilize their mercenaries inside and outside the country for suppressing this Islamic Republic; that is, for suppressing Islam. Based on their own standards, they give themselves the right to oppose us. We are subjected to oppression by our Muslim brothers, and those that are nurtured by others, whom we consider our brothers. For instance, I can refer to the comprehensive campaign launched by some Muslim clerics who are apparently clerics, but who are in fact hired by governments in Islamic countries. Some of them who perhaps benefited from the Shah's regime have not remained silent during the span of time when the Islamic Republic has been pursuing its own path. They have encountered Islam in the name of Islam and have written articles. Those who propagate in favor of Begin and Zionism propagate against the Islamic Republic and us in the name of Sunni clerics. Yet, the Sunni clerics should dissociate themselves from these mercenaries. We have been oppressed by them. Of course, what those people say, that is broadcast abroad, is not worth much, even for those who make them say so.

But our brothers, who have come here from other countries and have made this trip to find first hand facts about the Islamic Republic, had better extend their stay in Iran so that they could study the situation more deeply. They should study the situation of this Islamic Republic ever since its establishment to the present day to find out what it says and what it wants.

This nation has from the very beginning shouted that they want Islam and the Islamic Republic. This nation's main slogan have been Allahu Akbar (God is the Greatest) and La Ilaha Illallah (There is no god, but God). They have had no access to any other arms and ammunition, and yet they have defeated their strong enemies who did not believe in Islam and were even acting against Islam. Is it fair then that someone who emerges from the context of the Islamic world, and claims to be a Muslim cleric and a religious authority opposes such a political system whose main objective has been the implementation of the Islamic rules in this country and propagation for Islam in other countries?

We have no expectations from the likes of Sadat and Saddam who are the mercenaries of powerful countries, and the United States. They provide military bases for the disbelievers, oppressors and the United States in Islamic countries. We do not expect much of them, because they do not believe in Islam. They are the U. S. servants and do whatever the U. S. dicates to them. The uprooted aggression against the Islamic Reublic was done at the otder of big powers, particularly the U.S. We do not expect any of them. They have to oppose us in various ways and we are sitting here to thwart their objections and to listen to their oppositions. They accuse us of purchasing arms from Israel, while we have voiced our strong opposition with the accursed Zionists from the very beginning, and long before the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Even during the reign of the corrupt Pahlavi regime we were always opposed to that corrupt regime. We consider it debasing to have any relation with Israel. It is over 20 years that wherever there has been talk of Israel and wherever any communiques has been released with regard to Israel, one of our main objections has been to Israel and its oppression. However, many of the heads of Islamic countries have never taken a single step to oppose Israel.

, who has created such a big mess by attacking Islamic Iran and is on the verge of defeat, has had the Israel bomb a facility in Iraq in an attempt to get rid of the shame of attacking Iran and to show that Israel is opposed to Saddam and his Ba'th Party. They find a phony excuse to prove that Israel is opposed to Saddam, but has ties with Iran. It is a baseless, childish accusation aimed to present us among Islamic countries as the country siding with Israel. However, since the beginning of this Islamic movement one of our main demands has been that Israel must be annihilated. They can never bring such a false subject home. But these brothers who have come here from foreign countries should survey the situation and figure out whether we fight with Israeli weapons or with the weapon of faith?

Today, our country is an Islamic country. All our armed forces are united with one another and with the nation. Look at our police forces who along with the clerics get together under the same roof, and announce that they are at the service of Islam and the Islamic country. They certainly pursue this path. I pray to God Almightly for the success of all our armed forces, particularly the police forces that are at the service of the people in our cities. Of course, they should render greater services and I hope they will be successful.

These small problems throughout the country and in our different cities and these thieves whom the U. S. backs will soon be settled in Iran. They are insignificant; they are thieves who at times make an explosion sonewhere. They do what a thief does. Their noise is too much; they talk a lot, but there is actually no real weight behind such acts. We, of course, regret that these youngsters have been cheated by these hypocrites and ruin their lives for those whom the U.S announces have to be supported.

We are sorry for them and once again advise them to abandon these Americans who have emerged in our country in different guises. Come and embrace Islam that is opposed to all corrupt powers. These people claim to be Muslims and do this and that for Islam. But I realized from the very beginning that they were telling lies. They also claim to be anti-imperialists and opposed to the United States. This was also a lie and the U. S. disclosed it. The White House announced that the hypocrites (MKO terrorists) must be supported. These people who claimed to be opposed to oppressive countries have immigrated to oppressive countries and unleashed campaign against Islam and their own people. They have thus totally ruined their reputation in Iran. They talk and write articles but have no foothold here. If they had even one tenth of the population with them, they would have stayed here, but it is not like this and they have no chance of returning to the country. They have to write articles from there, make hue and cry and enter to collusion with their masters, assuming that they can do something, but there is nothing they can do here.

I ask the entire Iranian nation to heed their sabotages alertly and take lessons from the woman who handed in her own son for trial, an example of truly Islamic behavior, of which others should follow. Advise your children first, advise your brothers, your offspring, and if they do not accept, turn them in so as to fulfill your Islamic and national duty.

I ask the entire armed forces to maintain their solidarity, as they have done so far. From now on you should grow more integrated to further strengthen it. I particularly advise the police force to get stronger in the cities they serve and to fortify their personnel to be able to encounter these hooligans who are thieves engaged in armed burglary and who occasionally kill the people and the clerics. You should spot their hideouts and rid the country and nation of their evil deeds, although they are not worth being mentioned.

Thanks God, all the organizations wherein Islam should have been realized in our country have been brought under Islamic jurisdiction. All the organizations function in full solidarity with one another. The efforts aimed at sowing discord among the heads of this country, and pitting the government against the Majlis, or the judiciary against others have all failed. Today, all government organizations are harmonized with one another. Islam is the goal and all armed forces are united with one another. They are observing full solidarity in their procession towards Islamic objectives along with the entire nation. A nation with such harmony is no longer vulnerable.

I hope that the all members of our nation heed the point that as long as they maintain their unity they will remain invulnerable. Your enemies are after ceating division, but have failed and cannot do so, God willing.

This bunch of cheated youth will hopefully wake up and return to the kind fold of Islam and the nation. Now that they have realized their leaders have betrayed their country and have been clearly American-oriented, they no more have any excuse to consider them to be advocate of Islam or the nation. They have to return to the kind fold of Islam and the gate for repentance is always open. If they volunteer and step forward, before they are arrested, and return to the kind fold of Islam, their repentance will be accepted. I hope this finds reality. As regards their corrupt leaders residing abroad, if they also come to realize their wrong path, the way for repentance is still open, although I know they will not repent. I pray to God Almightly for the health and prosperity of all Islamic nations as well as prosperity of all armed forces of Islam and Iran and the good health of all my brothers. I further hope that the police force whhich has the close attention of the clerics, completly purge and efficiently strengthen Iran for themselves so that others would stop their covetous eyes on this country and the country will be yours, independent and free.
