Great mission of the Iranian embassies
Since the time the Islamic Republic government has formed, and with a very foreign minister appointed. I have always put much emphasis on our ambassadors and embassies. They have to be reformed, and as they represent the Islamic Republic abroad. They should be in compatible with the Islamic Republic. If it happens that, let's suppose, an embassy of the Islamic Republic abroad is not compatible with the Islamic Republic in terms of its individuals, administration, the condition of the embassy and its activities, it is better to close it than let it stay open. When the representative of the Islamic Republic acts in ways not in line with Islamic standards, it will be more useless than useful. These embassies abroad should be related to a committed government and should represent that regime which is Islamic in itself.
Of course, you know what the embassies were like in the former government, that is at the time of Pahalavi, especially Muhammad Rida Khan. If embassies remain in the same situation as they used to be, they will be detrimental to the Islamic country. They will give an excuse to those who are now directing all their pens against us. Their pens and tongues concuct baseless stories says lots of tings against us, and if, God forbid, there is something wrong with us, nobody knows what will happen. For this reason, this is an Islamic duty for you, the nation and us to preserve the image of Islam and our country abroad. This is a very important thing that I recommend at the early stage of your mission. This point should not be neglected. If there are any improper acts whether inside or outside, it should hopefully be stopped.
Need to reform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies
All of you who go abroad, the staff of embassies and even the cooks should be committed to Islam. If it is not possible to purge all of them at once, it should be done gradually. I implore God to grant you success in doing this big service to present the image of the Islamic as described by Almighty God, as it is and as it will be in the future. You should represent this Islamic image there. You represent the Islamic Republic.
You should also know that the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is heavy because we deal with the outside, and inside it is possible that a thing might happen which is not supposed to, but it does less harm than what happens outside. If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not reformed, we can almost say that the Islamic Republic will fall apart. In this respect, the Foreign Ministry must do whatever it can to further the progress and development of Islam. Also those who go abroad, wherever they are, must reform the embassies as much as they can. Ambassadors who are abroad must be committed and suppose that if someone who is not an ambassador, goes to where there is already an ambassador, he should take notice of what that ambassador does, what the situation is like and submit a report to the Foreign Ministry. At any rate, it is a heavy job but it must be done. You must take into account all the propaganda directed against the Islamic Republic and to take account of the fact that they are busy making up lies and things against you. You must propagate Islam over there and the Islamic Republic. Wherever you are, you must have a bulletin to explain everything. You should write and talk about the lies which the radios say. Suppose that if there is a need to speak to the people somewhere, do it. Or in your bulletins you can look into those lies and reply to them. I hope that you will be successful; God willing, all aspects of the Islamic Republic will be reformed and corrected. God willing, all the ministries and administrations of the Islamic Republic will be consistent with what God has commanded.
