Need for improvement and Islamilization of universities
I appreciate you gentlemen who have taken positive steps. I hope you have felt that all pains in Iran have begun from university. University had bitter experiences that cannot be removed so soon. It calls for diligence and sacrifice to make the university efficient. The university at that time had no right to speak about the interests of Iran and Islam and saying prayer was a shame in university which is the source of all our problems. You should strive to improve the university. You should come to realize that Islam can improve the university. Improvement of university is easy when we raise children efficiently from school. If our children are brought up correctly from childhood, the university will take less trouble.
Academicians' self-assurance in independence of the country
I hope that with the efforts of teachers and professors, the situation is so improved that one who completes his education will emerged a committed individual serving his country, without being concerned to satisfy the alien countries. You know that many of those who have been trained in university believe that Iran should be affiliated to foreign countries despite the fact that some of them also say prayer. They argue that Iran cannot manage administration of the country by itself. Can not Iran that has preserved its independence despite all pressures and exported its revolution to other countries and awakened other nations administer itself? Why? You should do something that our universities follow the method of masses of people, as if a nation wants something, its contrast cannot be imposed on them. Notice how our million-strong masses of people have been transformed and noted that they should stand against powers. University should be the center of growth for such mentality, something that has unfortunately not been the case.
I hope that with the efforts of the Cultural Revolution Supreme Council and you gentlemen we can develop a university that is the people's university, not alien's university. We should educate our youths in a way that the Muslims of other countries come to realize that education in there is useful. Be aware that if the university worked efficiently and presented a good model of itself and the people of the world would understand that the university in Iran works for Iran and not for aliens, Muslims of other countries will naturally come here.
Improvement of the country hinges on improvement of university
Mere knowledge is not useful; knowledge and commitment together can elevate man not to stand in need of others, being proud before God. Of course, this work has its problems and difficulties. Anyone striving to do a positive work will not necessarily be welcomed by others. A right work may be bitter to some groups. But one who seeks right and works for God's gratification should not think that what others tell about him; he should consider God and work for God irrespective of what others may give comments. Good work has also its opponents. You should think of doing good work so as to be proud before God. When you develop such mentality, God will also accompany you and remove your difficulties. If university is improved, country will be improved. I pray for you to sanction you and make you successful.
