The receipt of your congratulatory message on the occasion of the Iranian New Year is acknowledged with gratitude. It is hoped that in this New Year our heroic and combatant nation could attain the fruits of its years of epic resistance and struggle. I wish they can curtail the grip of the enemies of Islam and Islamic countries, especially the criminal America and its tottering mercenary, the blood-thirsty Saddam, who has no mercy on his own people. He has brutally and mercilessly martyred thousands of Kurdish women, children and defenseless civilians in Halabchah and other areas deploying chemical bombings. This century's criminal of the century should be tried and punished so that the two nations can continue with their peaceful and safe life with dignity and pride.
