Salutations to pilgrims to the holy House of God. Salutations to all Muslims of the world and to all committed Muslims who have come from the world of Islam to the truth, setting up their representative agencies in the vicinity of the House of God. Of all divine rituals, hajj has especial features; perhaps its socio-political aspects outweigh its other aspects, though its devotional aspect also enjoys especial importance.
The committed Muslims who come together in this general assembly and divine organization, irrespective of color, language and geographical condition once in a year. They converge in holy stations to perform Islamic rituals in the simplest manners, and pay heed to spiritual matters. They should not overlook the socio-political aspects of hajj. The prominent `ulama' and preachers should familiarize Muslims with their political needs and duties. If Muslims pay attention and act according to these duties, the honor which God has promised the believers will be restored, they will attain the Islamic-divine glories, which are the right of Muslims, will enjoy the real freedom and independence under the shield of the beloved Islam and the banner of monotheism" There is no God but God", curtailing the influence of the arrogant powers over Islamic countries and regain the glory and grandeur of Islam.
In the glorious verse quoted at the beginning of my address, God cites the secret and motivation for Hajj and the purpose behind establishment of the holy House of Ka'aba to be uprising of Muslims for the interests of people and oppressed masses of the world. In this great divine congregation which no power except the infinite power of God can form, Muslims must endeavor to attend to and settle the problems of Muslims collectively. One of the biggest and most essential problems is lack of unity among Muslims caused by some of the heads of Islamic countries. Unfortunately, no remarkable step has so far been taken to tackle this problem. In fact, selfish criminals, who make use of the differences among nations and governments, foment the disputes through their Godless agents. Whenever the ground for unity among Muslims is paved, these criminals strongly oppose it and trry to sow seeds of discord.
Today all the governments and many Muslims nations know that the Iranian nation rose up after hundreds of years of troubles at the hands of oppressive and tyrannical kings who used Islam as a mean of plunder for themselves, for big powers and lately for the criminal America, and through their grand revolution replaced the illegitimate monarchical regime with an Islamic government when they saw both Islam an the Qur'an at stake, and this way cut off the hands of superpowers, especially the world-devouring America from their life and property. It is hoped that other Muslim brothers shackled in the clutches of the bloodthirsty oppressors will benefit from this Islamic Revolution and Islamic governments backed by their nations join this great revolution in Iran.
Today, the criminal hands of America and other plundering powers through Godless agents and mercenaries, attack this innocent nation from inside and outside of the country by weapons and pens, of more deadly effect than firearms, with a view to defeat the Islamic Revolution and the beloved Islam. To this end, they forgo no accusations or libels against a nation which thinks of nothing except Islamic laws and the glorious Qur'an, and are intent on on crushing the Islamic Revolution with feigned pretexts. Those who command firearms like Saddam and those who do not, use their poisonous pens, which are worse than the firearms, to hit our country from all sides .
Introducing difference among Islamic schools is a crime carried out by the powerful countries so as to benefit from discord among Muslims. Their Godless agents, including the court preachers who are darker than the tyrannical kings, fan the flame of discors, presenting new ideas to creat rift in the hope of undermining the pillar of unity among Muslims. Lately, they have come up with the scandalous accusation that Iran is buying weapons from and having ties with Israel in the hope of driving a wedge between Iran and the `Arabs and triggering enmity among Muslims, thus paving the way for the superpowers to tighten their grip as much as possible. But which aware person does not know that Iran has been and still is an inveterate enemy of Israel and that one of our problems with the ousted Shah was his friendly ties with Israel? Who does not know that for more than twenty years we have condemned Israel as the U.S. match in oppression and its follower in aggression and plundering in our sermons and statements? Who does not know that in the course of the Islamic Revolution and in the favor of million-strong demonstrations, the Muslims nation of Iran called Israel along with America its enemy, blocked the flow of oil to them and directed its rage and hatred on both. Strangely, the sinister cry was shouted trough the throat of the U.S the mother of the illegitimate Israel and Saddam the younger brother of Begein and their propaganda trumpets, especially those of America were aired on a large scale, because they have not still suffered such a strong blow that they have received from the real Islam. The worry these two feel about unity between Iran and `Arab Muslim brothers is not felt by others. America is worried about its own interests in the region and Saddam about his eternal stigma and downfall. Muslims, especially the `Arab brothers should know that what is at issue is not Israel and Iran. The Eastern and Western world-devourers are primarily concerned about Islam which can bring Muslims together under the honorable banner of Islam and which can cut off the hands of the criminals from Islamic countries and from the domination over the oppressed countries, and present the divine progressive school of Islam to the world. The `Arab world should know that the blow dealt to them by Saddam and Sadat is so horrible that only can be redressed through their unity. Today, Sadat has consummated his service to Israel by widely arresting our brothers in Egypt. His unity with Israel and America has defamed all Arab nations. Unity with the Israel that has, these days, committed a bigger crime than those it has perpetrated in the region: digging in al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qiblah of Muslims. As the pillars grow weaker, the first Qiblah of Muslim, God forbid, may crumble, thus helping Israel to attain its object goal.
Oh, Muslims and oppressed people of the world under the hegemony of oppressors, rise up and shake the hands of unity and defend Islam and your destiny. Do not fear the hue and cry of the powerful countries, for this century, by the will of God, marks the century of victory of the oppressed over the arrogant powers and right over wrong. The world should know that Iran has found the way of God and will be in a relentless struggle with the world-devouring U. S., this staunch enemy of the world oppressed people, until its interests are served. The events taking place in Iran will not cause our nation to hesitate for a single moment, rather they will make our people more determined in putting an end to U. S. interests. We have embarked on our hard and unceasing campaign against America and hope that our children will hoist the flag of monotheism in the world by being liberated from the yoke of oppressors. We are certain that if we carefully fulfill our duty which is to fight the criminal America, our children will taste the savor of victory.
Is it not a disgrace for the Muslims of the world to give in to the hegemony of arrogant powers, bandits and pirates despite commanding all these human, material and spiritual resources, and having such progressive school of thought and divine support? Has not the time arrived to put aside carnal desires and extend a hand of fraternity to each other and drive out the enemies of humanity from the stage and put an end to their disgraceful and oppressive existence? Has not the time arrived for the struggling and brave people of Palestine to condemn the political games played by those who claim to be fighting Israel and rip up the chest of Israel, the inveterate enemy of Islam and Muslims with firearms? What answer do Muslims have to provide before God who has called upon them to (stick together around the string of God) «2» and forbidding them from discord and dispute? Do not they think it's their duty to back up the Iranian government and nation who toppled the flag of atheism with Jihad and raised the honorable flag of Islam? Do the court preachers consider suppressing the Islamic Revolution to be more necessary than opposing America and Israel? We demand our Muslim brothers in the East and the West to act in unison with the Islamic Republic of Iran and repel the evil of criminals with the help of God, rid the Islamic countries and the oppressed people of the world of pillage and respond positively to God's call in this vital issue. We request the pilgrims to the holy House of God to pray for the victory of Islam in the holy stations, conveying the message of Iranian nation and the outcry of this innocent people to their countries. We beg God to confer on you success in unity of expression and familiarity with Islamic duties. May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you.
