Speech [Extending monotheism and understanding the world, goal of prophet's mission - resistance and perseverance of Iranian nation]

I hope that this blessed feast will be happy and attract the blessing and favour of God for all Muslim nations and oppressed peoples of the world, particularly for the great people of Iran. I also hope that the powerful hand of the Savior supports this dear nation. What for, which prophets have been assigned and all of other missions to expand monotheism and making people understand the world and depicting the world as it, is, not as we perceive. All other aims were prelude to this higher goal. All purifications, teachings and efforts were made to bring the people from this dark world to light. Other than God Almighty is not light; all are darkness. If we are relieved of these dark veils and if we succeed in getting rid of luminary veils and rend all veils, then we will observe the truth in all its Attributes and Names, realizing that there is nothing other than Him. All are mirage. Of course, in its complete sense, a few of the devotees of God pursuant to prophets succeeded and others apprehended the lower levels reading down to us who have appreciated nothing.

The holy month of Ramadan might have been prescribed, because it is a month in which the holy Prophet has perceived the truth. After this perception, the angels and the Qur'an have been sent down. By His power the angels are sent down and by the power of the grand wali, the Qur'an and angels are revealed. The grand wali reached the truth of the Qur'an in the holy month and on the night of Qadr. After the perception, He caused Quran to be sent down through the angels who are all subordinate to Him so as to communicate to people to some extent. The holy Qur'an is beyond our approach and it is beyond the capacity of human being. It is a secret between the Truth and the grand wali who is the messenger of God. It is revealed to the prophet in whole to be communicated to people in the form of words so as to be able to use it. If we understand the secret of the" Night of Qadr" and" ascension of angels" on the nights of Qadr- that extends to the grant wali of God, Imam of the Age (May God's peace be upon him) - all our problems would be facilitated. All the problems we have are because we are veiled and cannot perceive the truth as it is and the order of existence as has been regulated. We assumed that the life here is something and absence in here is a defect, while life here is the result of the truth coming from the unseen world and death- although it might be human death- is a return to the stage existing from the beginning, with its certain stages and aspects being different. We hope that by the grace of the holy month that is the feast of connection, we can also reap benefit so that we can overcome the problems befallen upon us. Not all the things brought by prophets aimed at the essence. Establishment of government is not for prophets an essential purpose. All their invitation is prelude to awakening of human beings and making man understand what man has been, what he is and what he will be and that how the world is and what relationship it has with the sacred essence of God Almighty. We have no access to such problem and hope that thanks to the saints of The God we can also gain however; faint acquaintance and some of the veils are removed from our eyes. God Almighty says:" Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth." «1» In another verse we read:" He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward." «2» We should perceive this with our heart and all our existence, not by scientific perception. Observation of its scientific perception is easy, but reaching the point as to perceive these problems is difficult and calls for struggle. Prophets and awliya' have attained this stage by their struggles.

The supplications handed down to us from Immaculate Imams (May God's peace be upon them) are described by some «3» as ascending Qur'an. These supplications contain so many Divinely learning that amaze man. There is so much knowledge in these supplications. The issues pronounced by the Immaculate Imams for people in the form of catechesis, specification of duties in a chapter spelled out in common language. When it comes to the supplications, the questions have differed. Here, there is no longer common language. Of course, there is everything in them, yet the knowledge provided in the supplications left by the Immaculate Imams (May God's peace be upon them) differ from the common language and that of the practical rules. Study of these supplications opens the way for man to reach some Divinely stages. I hope that the dear nation undergoes development in this concept in the same way this country has experienced transformation in everything.

I hope that evolution emerges in the same way that we observed in the battlefields and in demonstrations in these days. The demonstrations were unprecedented. This is Islamic ability and the ability of Iranian nation. After so much pressure, intimidation, threats and propaganda and so many years of suffering and pain, suffering and tortures, the entire Iran underwent sudden change in a day for invitation of an individual, a dear individual. They took to the streets. This is the skill of Islam that transforms man this way, removing fear from hearts, making souls divinely and giving spiritual status to souls. People make their children wear shroud and cry that they have come to be martyred. This has no precedence in history of the world. Search the entire history of the world. You will not find such a thing that with such condition, in this situation and under this intimidation and bombardments of regions even Tehran, people take to the streets in their multitudes so that no one can say people do not want war! People do not want war, but they are defending. This" war, war until victory" cried by people is a defensive war. Foregoing this, if these problems were not brought about, Iran in no way would initiate war against any country. At present, too, Iran has no such intention.

The experience made by foreigners, those who are not aware of Islam and those who were uninformed of the power and skill of Islam, they were in veil and did not know. They are still in veil. However, a curtain of the veil was removed. Now throughout the world all superpowers know what the story is. They are launching propaganda at such scale because they are well familiar with the sensivity of the issue and how it should be confronted. Firstly, they kept silent. This silence does not mean that they do not know. Those who must know already know. The leaders of the world, the superpowers know. The news agencies representing them here report them the issues the way they are, but they create a different situation for propaganda. They know the issues. They know that after so much propaganda they made and so many threats, they made- even the White House threatened Iran- people of Iran took to the streets and ignored all the threats. They understand the situation and are thinking out a way to come forward. They thought they could create discord in Iran. So, they fomented the differences and rumored that the leaders are at variance with one another and people are exhausted and move towards conflict. They thought that by inviting to difference, people would differ. Once they opened their eyes and saw that Iran rise up unanimously. Suddenly, they woke up as to what the story was. Now, they are amazed as to what the story was and what should be done. The difference imagined to be there, we knew there is not such thing. However, they wanted to create difference with such words. They launched propaganda to create difference. They thought they would create difference. Such propanganda that people have got tired of war would lead to generate tiredness? The Quds Day gave them a slap on their face. The practical analysis made by Iranian nation thwarted all their comments. This is the skill of Islam on the one hand and the skill of Iranian nation on the other. On the Quds Day when all witnessed and the ambassadors who said were here today were also witness. Day of Quds was not something to cross the mind of the like of Carter and the like of US presidents, past or present. They thought that-they had been erroneously made out-Iran had been exhausted. People have been pressed so much, their houses have been destroyed and have been wandered and they would leave the scene. Therefore, it would be possible to end the story soon. Suddenly, they opened their eyes and saw Iran rising up unanimously and crying for war; that is, defense.

We cannot appreciate the Iranian nation. We are a weak point among this great sea. We are a drop in this ocean. We pray God to thank you. We also thank you in an attempt to thank God. Appreciation of you is the same as appreciation of God. You demonstrated to the people and to the world that Iran will not surrender to any oppression. Although your call was blocked to reach the ear of some individuals, the waves will be finally released. You proved out for the world that Iran would never leave the arena with such threats. Iran is dependent on an enormous power, the power of God. One who depends on the power of God, one whose heart is filled with faith. One who believes in the Resurrection and knows God and Divine Providence will not leave the arena with such threats. They should think out other ways. Those who were sitting and fancied that two months later, three months later, one year later, two years later they should think out another way. Their scheme did not work. Superpowers should also think out a different way. They had better abandon such plans. They had better stop supporting this evil agent «4» of theirs who generated such disgrace for the superpowers. This wretched man was deceived and it was later made clear that the story was not the way he had been told. These struggles are now of no avail. They thought that they drop some more bombs on Iranian cities to make it surrender. They dropped thousands of bombs, bombarded the cities and all border areas and big cities and on the Quds Day that population appears in the streets making those cries. Some of the reporters have said," Sound of cannons is no longer heard; people no longer hear the sound of bombs." People's cry had overpowered. This cry comes out from the heart of the believer and the cry coming from the heart of the believer subdues everything, including the White House as it has. The wave of this faith across the world is emerging from under the oppressions committed throughout the course of history. Everywhere the song of no to oppression is being sung. The powerful hand of nations has made the superpowers retreat and will continue to do so.

Oppressed nations everywhere in the world are on the verge of awakening. Today, people will not accept the words made previously. Those intimidations they made and ships they brought around the Persian Gulf and the like or the other works they did have all been worn out. These acts are no longer of any value in the sight of people. A nation who has come out on Friday and cries:" We have come for martyrdom", you cannot frighten them from death. This is martyrdom. Whatever you want you may frighten by saying:" We destroy your houses, kill you." They have come forward and say," We have come for this." How can you frighten them? This is foolish. This act done recently by Saddam is in contravention of all international and Divinely norms, but he was encouraged by the world. No one was found to ask why so that he would not repeat this foolish act. You saw that if it is repeated, it would be worse than the first time. Whatever crime you committed, you saw the people became stronger. From now onward if you do not come to your senses and repeat the mischief, this nation will react more strongly than today. God willing, God will grant the power of faith to the nation and all Muslim nations and increase the power of faith of our nation. I hope that they will stop such mischief so that nations would be engaged with their own business. We are also annoyed with their mischief. We are also unhappy with retaliation. I hope it will come to a halt. May God make you successful and grant glimpse of favor to you and us with the blessing of this auspicious feast and holy month that passed.
