[In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Greetings to my dear and honored lord Rouhi. «2» I wish you are in good health under the canopy of the Beneficent God and the Imam of the Time. If you ask after the condition of this poor man, I am healthy. My only sorrow and sad grief is being remote from you dear one. I implore God Almighty and swear Him by his intimate ones to help us enjoy the blessing of kissing your hand as soon as possible.
Anyhow, dear Rouhi! My soul is flying for you. It is for two years that I have no news about you. You well know that I need your advice and hope you will not spare us of this gift. I hope that in your letters you will write about" Mihan". What is he doing and with whom he has established relations? What does he cultivate in the lands? What about his business of Husayn Kharakchi?  I have heard once you have shattered him. «3» At any rate, I look forward to your good prayer and hope that you will not forget us in the prayers on the night of Friday and Wednesday in Jamkaran «4» and coteries.
On my behalf give my regards to uncle Husayn Vaziri, «5» Akbar Majlisi, «6» Husayn`Ali, «7» Mashhadi Ahmad, «8» and my very dear brother Sayyid `Ali «9» and family of Mr. Akbar «10» and the family (I heard that some time ago he had gone out on a tour. What souvenir has he brought?) «11» Send my regards to them. I look forward to receiving your reply. I shower your face with kiss.
Your younger son,
`Ali Khodamandeh

My dear brother! I am happy to read you are healthy and beg God Almighty that you will soon return to the country. My pen is inadequate to appreciate the courage and magnanimity of you dear ones. It is hoped that I will not neglect good prayer for you all. May God's peace be upon you!

«۱»- The text of very interesting letter of this combatant who was taken captive by the Baathist regime of Iraq contains codes and hints that while expressing its intention has minimized the possibility of its decipher. In the section dealing with identity of sender and receiver of the letter on the forms provided by the International Red Cross Scoetiy we read: `Ali Abu'l-Qasemi, son of `Abdul-Husayn, Iraq, `Anbar Camp, room ۲۳/ Receiver: Yazdi, Qum Hadrati St., Hujjat St., House of Mr. Yazdi. Attention Mr. Rouhi. «۲»- The prisoner of war detained by the Iraqi Ba`athist regime, has addressed Imam Khomeini by the name Rohi which means my soul, deriving from the famous slogan chanted in the following words:" You are my soul Khomeini, you are idol-breaker Khomeini." «۳»- The prisoners of war were somehow aware of the victories of the army of Islam in warfronts. «۴»- Implying Jamaran. «۵»- Mr. Mir Husayn Mousawi, then Prime Minister. «۶»- Mr. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, then Majlis Speaker. «۷»- Mr. Husayn `Ali Mutaziri, then substitute leader. «۸»- Mr. Sayyid Ahmad Khomeini. «۹»- Mr. Sayyid `Ali Khamene'i, then President. «۱۰»- Mr. `Ali-Akbar Wilayati, Foreign Minister. «۱۱»- Referring to one of the visits of Mr. Wilayati to a foreign country.
