[His Holiness Great Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Hadrat Ayatullah al-`Uzma Imam Khomeini, May your presence endure,
After greetings and wishing you dignified and blessed longevity, may I beg to notify you that the country's sensitive situation and imminent changes in the government prompted us, representative of the Islamic Consultative Assembly to cause you inconvenience in the hope that we can seek help from your sacred breath and magnanimity that have always injected confidence in souls eager to Truth generating blessing for Islam and the Islamic Republic.
As your profound mind is aware, following the presidential elections, a new government will be introduced. This event comes about at a time when our selfless and revolutionary nation has patiently left behind the fifth anniversary of the imposed war with all its outcomes and concomitances and has proudly and powerfully set the sacred defense of Islam and the Islamic Revolution as the frontispiece of his programs and efforts under the guidance of Your Eminence, tolerating hard financial and economic bottlenecks magnanimously and with divinely high-mindedness.
While we representatives of this honorable nation appreciate the committed Prime Minister and his struggling government that fulfilled their duty generously and successfully in very hard times and his valuable services have always been regarded by the Imam and the great Islamic ummah, convey our expectation at this sensitive juncture of the history of the Islamic Revolution of introducing the prime minister and his new government to the attention of the dear Imam and seek your sacred presence to provide us with guidance.
1. Revolutionary record and worthiness is a brilliant truth that should shine out on the face of the government of the Islamic Republic so that all revolutionary forces and the whole selfless people rise up to support it hopefully and vigorously. The Imam also greatly underscores this point. Therefore, if a government lacks in such merits or God forbid, has negative points, a blow will be inflicted on the revolution.
2. Today, our nation and country is experiencing one of the most critical historical junctures. Inflammation of the scope of war and the threat of striking oil reservoirs, the US military threats, intense economic pressures, dangerous political plots and provocations of anti-revolutionary forces constitute the important factors whose unendurable pressure heavily exerts on the shoulders of our patient and innocent people. Change of government that will unfortunately be followed by tremendous transformation in the country will bring about violent instability in government organizations and administration of the country, undoubtedly giving rise to dire consequences.
3. What is unfortunately manifest is a special and massive stream and clear and explicit spectrum supports the change of government. In case of success, numerous revolutionary forces might be brushed aside or resign, thus leading to great crisis and damage in administration of government that is now managed by valuable believing and revolutionary forces who are serving in all its context.
4. Our deprived, vigorous and patient people by introduction of new government will naturally raise expectations and since the new government lacks in new and extensive resources, the grounds for disappointment of Iran would be provided.
5. Since the new government has not greater experience, effort and resources and is deprived of absolute majority in the Islamic Consultative Assembly and among the people, it will not achieve the necessary successes, thus leading the country to crisis.
6. What we, as representatives of people, have found and notify is that the government of Eng. Mousawi despite great domestic and foreign problems and in spite of political atmospheres and impediments and intentional incoherence has been a successful government. This fact has been appreciated by the Imam and important and committed officials and revolutionary organizations and wakeful people and change of such a government in this sensitive juncture runs counter to the interests of the government and people.
7. Since, as you have underlined, war is the main concern and the present government with our combatant selfless forces have developed programmed warm and sincere agreement and cooperation in continuation of war, and effort to achieve victory, its retreat will cause damage and harm to war.
Now that the Majlis stands at the threshold of fateful decision, undoubtedly the Imam's guidelines can be illuminative. Therefore, we shall greatly appreciate if you permit some of the Islamic Consultative Assembly deputies have an audience briefly and avail of the guidelines of the Imam.
We implore God Almighty not to spare our ummah the blessings of leadership of that honorable Imam. May God's peace, mercy and blessing be upon you!]

Appreciating you gentlemen, I feel obliged to offer my comment to the gentlemen calling for my opinion such as Hujjat al-Islam Mahdawi and some others. I consider Eng. Mousawi «1» as a religious and committed person and his government successful in this very complicated situation of the country, not currently regarding its change to be advisable. Nevertheless, the right to select is vested with the president «2» and the esteemed Islamic Consultative Assembly.
